How to choose an injection molding material for your part
Narrow candidates quickly using mechanical, thermal, cosmetic, and cost criteria.
Start with the end-use environment: continuous operating temperature, chemical exposure, outdoor UV, and regulatory requirements.
Mechanically, balance impact and stiffness. Glass-filled grades raise stiffness but can trade off impact or surface appearance—evaluate together with gate location and part geometry.
Secondary operations (paint, plating, laser marking) also steer material families. Once we know volume and quality targets, we can propose realistic material and process combinations.
